Feel like all of your clothes make you look "fat!: I put on my workout clothes (which are bigger and more comfortable) and dance around/clean the house...anything to get moving and MOVE on! I was driving fast this morning. Yes, I was running behind as usual. I was also on the phone with a girlfriend who is currently looking for the right next step in life. After about 12.3 minutes of banter about what she wants to do, she came out with it......"What I really want to do is be a wife and a mom." And, with that, she shared a sigh of relief.

Naturally, my response was, "Yes! You should be a mom and a wife. You'll be fabulous at it!!". She proceeded to tell me all the reasons why she can't think that, can't say that and ended with "it's just so anti-ambitious".

This, my friends, is why we are here at GG. To make the desire that we naturally have of being domestic, goddess like and a home body ok. When did we decide as a world that having a goal of "just" being a mom and a wife was anti-ambitious? Do men want us all to be super ambitious in the career sense?

One thing I know for sure......if you love the dick, you can have ambition towards anything you want. You will have your man's support.

Here's to wanting to be a Domestic Goddess and being ok with that want!

I mean turned on. (no, this is not the feeling you get after you've had your morning coffee).

I'm talking about the real kind of turn on. The kind that gives you an instant energy high. The kind that makes your cheeks get flush. This is the kind of turn on DG's should be having regularly.

As women, it is our job to own our turn on. Yes, it is nice for others to aid us in the T.O., but we can't rely on it. At the end of the day, all we have is ourselves. It is our job to reel in the turn on and let it out.

Women need to find their "turn-on." It is in our bones to be sexual...now, we just have to bring it to the forefront. What do you think?

First of all, throw those nasty wine coolers out of your fridge. They're cheap, tacky and disgusting. Knowing how to make a proper dry martini insinuates a sort of class, a bit of education and a degree of hipness.

Dinner Party Rule #403: Packaging must all be gone when guests arrive.

This is imperative. A goddess never lets her guests see the packaging of any of the goodness she is preparing. (you must keep your secrets close to home)

Yes, it is ideal that we get every ingredient at a fresh, local Saturday market. But, we all know that goddesses lead very busy lives. Even with the greatest intentions of getting to the market this Saturday, I didn't. I was left to Safeway a few minutes before 5pm.

It is key to have your guests arrive while you are still preparing the last of the goodness. This allows them to feel they arrived right on time and gives you a chance to show off your domestic, kitchen skills. So sexy. Before they walk through the door, make sure your natural ingredients are all that's visible. Throw all packaging, bags, containers, etc in the trash. Stealthy guests may ask to throw away their gum just to see what the packaging was. Be one step ahead. Cover the recently trashed packaging with your oldest gossip mag. No one will ever dig through the trash.

No matter where your ingredients are from, people will know goddesses only have the best.

The Domestic Goddess's of the world are robe-less. Yes, we all have them. Soft. Furry. Silk. Patterned. We will hang them in the back of the closet and never wear them again. Your mother wore robes on a regular basis. She answered the door in them, got ready in them, and even went to bed in a robe.

A New Way to do Floors.....

Cleaning the floors have never been so great! I am going to start doing this at least once a month. I got on my favorite shoe site (zappos this time) and ordered a new pair of sandals. I specifically had them delivered on Saturday (every goddess is worth this extra charge). The doorbell rang with their arrival before 10:30am Saturday. I opened the package, immediately put on the fabulous kicks and swiffered away.

Naturally, I didn't want to do anything except look down. The floor cleaning was inspired, went quicker than I can remember and I got to break in the new shoes to my girl, Aretha.

If you must clean the floors, you should enjoy looking down.....

The last thing the Domestic Goddess wants to do with her free time is clean up. Seriously. Why would you want to make beds and mop floors when you could be online shopping or having a martini downtown? I'll tell you what, clean house = happy husband, significant other, and a place where your friends could only wish they could emulate.

This is how I get motivated.

I create a 3-song cardio cleanup playlist on i-tunes. I know, I'm so handy.

Whether it's Madonna or Snoop Dogg, put on your sexiest cleaning clothes. (I work it in a sheer tank with a dark bra and loose (yet still stylish!) jeans with wedge flip-flops. Ya know, gotta look like I'm working (and good) if the hubby drops by for lunch!

Next, I pump up the playlist (well, only so much as I have a 1 year old sleeeeeeeping) and get going. I go crazy and don't stop toll the full 3 songs. I make beds, sweep floors, and unload the dishwasher. I swear! Usually I keep going because I'm so inspired...seriously inspired. Sick? Maybe.

Today I begin my housewife certification. Yes, I am the single, working type....Mrs. C is the married, hot housewife type. Here, on this blog, my training begins. Together, we will come up with the certification. Here is what I am thinking it will include:

01) Know how to make an amazing margarita.

02) Know how to give a bj to completion in less than 6.5 minutes.

03) Hire the right housecleaner (who comes while the man is gone)

04) Speed dial and hostess access to the best take-out restaurants in town.

05) Decorating like a genius.

06) And the list will go on......

A fabulous, luxurious robe.

The new Chelsea Handler book. (It's both naughty and hilarious!)

Simple beauty products to make her feel beautiful (even though she may feel like she's been run over by a school bus.) Fancy chapstick, L'occitane hand lotion, etc. This would be great brought with a fabulous robe!

More so than anything that you can buy, offer to bring over her laptop or just hangout and watch some trashy TV and paint her toe nails while she's recovering in the hospital. She will really enjoy your company and support while she's healing.
