Dinner Party Rule #403: Packaging must all be gone when guests arrive.

This is imperative. A goddess never lets her guests see the packaging of any of the goodness she is preparing. (you must keep your secrets close to home)

Yes, it is ideal that we get every ingredient at a fresh, local Saturday market. But, we all know that goddesses lead very busy lives. Even with the greatest intentions of getting to the market this Saturday, I didn't. I was left to Safeway a few minutes before 5pm.

It is key to have your guests arrive while you are still preparing the last of the goodness. This allows them to feel they arrived right on time and gives you a chance to show off your domestic, kitchen skills. So sexy. Before they walk through the door, make sure your natural ingredients are all that's visible. Throw all packaging, bags, containers, etc in the trash. Stealthy guests may ask to throw away their gum just to see what the packaging was. Be one step ahead. Cover the recently trashed packaging with your oldest gossip mag. No one will ever dig through the trash.

No matter where your ingredients are from, people will know goddesses only have the best.
